Prostate screening is difficult. Blood tests are far from definitive. Interventions to prove benign enlargement can cause problems for patients, and yet some interventions can help manage prostatic cancerous changes or mechanical difficulties that is worth the risk of infection, difficulty remaining continent, and risk of impairment of sexual function.

According to the World Cancer Research Fund International -

Tomato products or lycopene have strong anti-cancer effects in a number of animal models of prostate cancer. A recent human study showed that high intake of dietary lycopene, largely from tomatoes, was strongly correlated with less blood vessel formation in prostate cancers.
